Our story
Gym Patriot was started in 2021 as an experiment in buying a domain name first and then building a business around it. We were interested in fitness so it made sense to take this new domain and build a curated list of American flag themed gym attire and equipment.
At the same time, we had several friends who are currently in the military, work in technology and were curious about how to transition to a civilian career. Given that we have a long background working in technology as well as many years in hiring and recruiting, we decided to start helping soon to be veterans find a new career.
The next logical step was to combine the two! Our ethos going forward is to build Gym Patriot into the site everyone thinks of when they need American flag themed gear. We will also help support veterans moving into technology through a combination of:
- donating proceeds to IT focused veteran's groups
- building a list of "how to" guides on Twitter targeted at veterans moving to technology as a career
- hosting info sessions and QA session with soon to be and current veterans to help them learn more about IT as a career path.
